Regional Offices

They have eight regional offices throughout the state where staff can assist you with a range of educational programs and events.

Restricted to in-person appointments: Because of the effects of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, before further notice they close our regional offices to in-person appointments. They are taking this measure out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of our members and our workers at the Regional Office.

They will contact representatives who are already scheduled to hold appointments to perform them over the internet. Within 15 minutes of your scheduled time, they will call you, so that they can still answer your questions.

They offer numerous appointments to help you run your CalPERS business. They suggest you first attend retirement education class before making an appointment. These courses provide useful information about the advantages of CalPERS which may address your questions.

Appointment Types

CalPERS offers five types of appointments to serve their members:

• Account Services – This 30-minute appointment extends to members who have concerns about refunds, community land, death benefits, post-retirement jobs, cost of living and more.
• Disability Retirement – This 60-minute appointment is for members preparing or filing for a retirement with disabilities or occupational disabilities.
• Health Benefits – This 30-minute rendezvous is for questions about how your health benefits proceed in retirement or for seniors with health benefits questions.
• Service Credit – Schedule this 30-minute appointment if you buy service credit, convert 2nd tier service to 1st tier, or have questions about those processes.
• Service Retirement – This 30-minute appointment is for members planning or applying for retirement service, and for retirees planning to change their retirement option.
