 This community park consists of a large open space that borders the public Delta View Golf Course and is located off West Leland Road at the end of John Henry Johnson Parkway. Formerly a target area for military artillery. The town restored the 190-acre site for public recreational use. A concrete trail that runs along John Henry Johnson Parkway, with open wood fences and trees. A trailhead at the end of the John Henry Johnson Parkway provides a parking area for hikers and riders on horseback.

There are 5 picnic sites within the trailhead park. One major picnic site has 6 picnic tables, one major BBQ pit with trees, and an atrium shaded. There are 4 other picnic sites with a picnic table, BBQ pit, and mature trees shaded. Other amenities include horseshoe pits, toilets, drinking fountains, and a car park. The picnic area is available for rent and features a very private area. A quick walk up the road into the hills and you can see some of the best views of the city for miles.

A great place to walk off some calories. The views are great and the trail is a challenge. There is a restroom there at the shelter house area.  Check-out the slides and swings available here. There is an area for kids and many benches for people overlooking their children.

You can run the trail, and play at all three parks. You will also love the neighborhood behind the park, which doesn’t seem like a long walk but it is. The park has been updated since way back, it is now more colorful. They still have soccer games there every weekend.
