The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch organizes education in graphic arts, sculpture, pottery and performing arts for different age groups. It also hosts the Saturday Summer Concert Series, the Delta Blues Festival, the Holiday De Lights and other community events.

The Rivertown Art Center is located in a bank building built in 1923. It is managed by the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch and has been established to provide local artists with additional opportunities to display their art and teach art classes.

The Arts and Cultural Foundation of Antioch has a non-profit tax code Status 501(c)(3). It is defined as: organizations for any of the following purposes: religious, educational, charitable, science, literary, public safety testing, the promotion of national or international amateur sports competition (as long as it does not include athletic facilities or equipment) or the prevention of cruelty to children or animals.

Lynn House’s historic townhouse along the Antioch River will soon be reopened as an art gallery and workshop.

The Antioch Council unanimously accepted a lease agreement to operate there with Jody Mattison, the owner of Lafayette Studio. The Antioch artist also teaches at the Community Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek and her private studio, Antioch Atelier. The town that owns the building at 809 W. First St. had previously leased it to the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch, which operated an art gallery there until 2017. Other organizations and organisations have also used the space over the years, but it has remained empty since the gallery was closed.

Under the lease agreement, Mattison will use a portion of the 1,400-square-foot two-story property for the art gallery and workshop. The Victorian house at the end of the 1800s, one of the oldest buildings in the area, is next door to the historic Roswell Butler Hard House, which the city still owns and which remains locked.

Under the initiative, the Lynn House will host a rotation of regional and guest musicians, showcasing the talents of East Bay and California residents. The revolving gallery will offer exposure to art teachers and inspiration to continuing and prospective students, according to the staff report.
