9th Street Park (AKA the 9th Street Pier)

At first glance there really isn’t much at this park, however, looks can be deceiving. The play structure itself is pretty cute. Fun for your 1 to 7-year-old kids, but what you are really missing is the waterfront. Left of the structure is beach access to the water! You can lay out in the sun, throw rocks, build a sandcastle, bring your paddleboard or other small craft. Left of the beach access is a real boat launch. Having this much access to the bay just can’t be beaten. Near the play structure, there is also a patch of sand for volleyball. The net only seems to be there some of the time so if you have one it might be a good idea to bring one. This park also has a path on the waterfront, you can run-walk, or stroll, either way, the view is amazing. So if you want to take the family to a park that offers more than just a slide and swing set this is it. Great picnic spot as well. There are only two park tables that are first come first serve, but you don’t care, because you’d rather bring a blanket and sit in the grass. You’ll surely have a fun time with your family here!

This is considered the go-to park for picnics on days the kids have Judo or any extra-curricular class near Vallejo or Benicia.

9th Street Park (AKA the 9th Street Pier) is actually a place you can get in the water and swim. They have P launch for boats also. Huge parking areas and every time you come to this park there’s really not that many people here so not too crowded at all. They have a small beach area where you can get some sun. And a lot of rocks for the kids to explore along the beach.
